Best AI Startup

An ongoing, curated list of AI startups actually solving a real problem — not every company with "AI" in the pitch, but the ones where it's doing genuine work.

What this offers

A technical, honest write-up

What the product actually does under the hood, in plain language — not marketing copy about "revolutionizing" an industry.

Credibility that holds up

Because we're specific about why a startup made the list, the feature is more useful to show investors or customers than a generic badge.

A rolling, not one-time, list

This updates as new startups apply and existing ones grow — being added isn't a one-shot moment that gets stale.

No cost to apply

Free to submit, free to be featured. We don't charge for placement on this list.

Who this is for

AI startups at any stage where the technology is doing real, specific work — not just a chatbot wrapper with no differentiation. We're especially interested in teams that can explain a genuine technical or product decision, not just the category they're in.

How it works

  1. Submit your startup below. What the AI actually does, technically, and what problem it solves.
  2. An editor evaluates the substance. We look for a real technical or product angle, not just AI-adjacent branding.
  3. If it fits, we follow up. A short round of questions to get the technical details right.
  4. Your entry goes live. Added to the current list below, with a note on what specifically earned the spot.

Rules & eligibility

  • This is free to enter, and always will be — we never charge a submission fee.
  • No age, location, industry, or follower-count requirement. Selection is about the work itself, not who you are.
  • Submitting doesn't guarantee publication or a reply beyond the automatic confirmation — we get more submissions than we can feature, and we'd rather say that upfront than overpromise.
  • One submission per person or company at a time. If it isn't selected, you're welcome to submit again later with something new.
  • Selection is editorial, not a queue — we're not obligated to publish every submission, and we won't pad the list with entries that aren't ready.

How do I actually apply?

I explain what the AI in my product is actually doing — the specific model, technique, or workflow — not just that it exists. I skip the buzzwords and describe the real problem it solves and for whom. I submit it, and if there's a genuine technical story here, an editor follows up before anything is published.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does it cost anything to submit?

No. It's free to submit to Best AI Startup, and free to be featured if selected. We don't charge for consideration, and we never will.

How long does it take to hear back?

If your submission is selected, you'll hear from an editor directly. If it isn't, we don't send a rejection notice — the volume we receive makes that impractical.

Can I submit on behalf of someone else?

Only with their knowledge and involvement — we want the real details, and that usually means hearing from the person or team directly.

What happens if I'm not selected?

Nothing gets published without being selected first. Unselected submissions simply aren't used, and you're welcome to submit again later.

Does this run every year?

Yes — Best AI Startup is evergreen. It runs all year, every year, with no deadline to catch.

Selection is editorial and unpaid on both sides — no one is charged to submit, and no one is paid for work we publish. Talmyn's editorial standards apply the same way here as everywhere else on the site.
