Talmyn 100 Voices
100 real stories, told by the people who lived them. No pitch decks, no press releases — just what actually happened, in your own words.
What this offers
A real, permanent byline
Selected stories are published as full articles on Talmyn — indexed, shareable, and yours to point people to for years, not a post that disappears in a feed.
An editor who actually works with you
You don't need polished prose. Tell us what happened; if it's selected, an editor works with you to shape it into a real piece before it goes live.
No cost, ever
Submitting your story is free and always will be. We don't charge people to be considered — that's not how a real recognition works.
You'll actually hear back
If your story is selected and published, you get an email the moment it's live. No wondering, no silence.
Who this is for
Anyone with a real, specific story — not a highlight reel. Past stories have covered a first sale after years of trying, a decision that didn't work out and what came after, a career pivot nobody saw coming, or a small moment that turned out to matter more than it looked like at the time. If you've been turning something over and thinking "I should write this down," this is where it goes.
How it works
- Submit your story below. A few paragraphs in your own words — headline, what happened, why it mattered. Takes about ten minutes.
- An editor reads it. Every submission gets read, not just skimmed for keywords. We're looking for specific and real, not impressive-sounding.
- If it's selected, we work on it together. An editor may follow up with questions or a light edit pass — you'll see the piece before it publishes.
- It goes live, and you're notified. Published under your name, added to the collection below, and you get an email with the link the moment it's up.
Rules & eligibility
- This is free to enter, and always will be — we never charge a submission fee.
- No age, location, industry, or follower-count requirement. Selection is about the work itself, not who you are.
- Submitting doesn't guarantee publication or a reply beyond the automatic confirmation — we get more submissions than we can feature, and we'd rather say that upfront than overpromise.
- One submission per person or company at a time. If it isn't selected, you're welcome to submit again later with something new.
- Selection is editorial, not a queue — we're not obligated to publish every submission, and we won't pad the list with entries that aren't ready.
How do I actually apply?
Here's the honest, first-person version: I open the form below, and I write my story the way I'd tell it to a friend — not the way I'd write it for a job application. I give it a headline that says what it's actually about, not a vague teaser. I include the specific details (a real number, a real date, a real decision) that make it mine and not a generic version of the same story. I hit submit, and I get a message telling me an editor will read it. If it's selected, someone from Talmyn reaches out by email to work on it with me. That's it — no account to create, no fee, no waiting room.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need to be a professional writer?
No — that's the point of the editorial process. Tell us what happened in plain language; the editing happens after, together.
Does it cost anything to submit?
No. It's free to submit to Talmyn 100 Voices, and free to be featured if selected. We don't charge for consideration, and we never will.
How long does it take to hear back?
If your submission is selected, you'll hear from an editor directly. If it isn't, we don't send a rejection notice — the volume we receive makes that impractical.
Can I submit on behalf of someone else?
Only with their knowledge and involvement — we want the real details, and that usually means hearing from the person or team directly.
What happens if I'm not selected?
Nothing gets published without being selected first. Unselected submissions simply aren't used, and you're welcome to submit again later.
Does this run every year?
Yes — Talmyn 100 Voices is evergreen. It runs all year, every year, with no deadline to catch.
Selection is editorial and unpaid on both sides — no one is charged to submit, and no one is paid for work we publish. Talmyn's editorial standards apply the same way here as everywhere else on the site.
